Austin Pond Tour 2025
Cosmic Coffee's Pond

2000-gallon pond, waterfalls, native plants, herb garden. Accessible.

The pond at the Cosmic Coffeehouse and Beer Garden was built by Matt Boring of Texas Pond and Water Features and is located in front of the main building. Two waterfalls also cascade down the hillside to the left of the building, generating a loud splashing sound that buffers the Congress Avenue traffic noise. The pond contains 15 varieties of plants with many more arranged on the hills next to the streams and waterfalls. You may not see the koi or the mosquito fish as they hide from the herons in the cave built under the last waterfall. The rainwater from the coffeehouse is captured to replenish the pond and to water the raised bed herb garden. The raised beds are the herb garden which provides fresh vegetables for use in the restaurant.

Take a break from touring and enjoy a coffee or a beer. There are also food trucks on the grounds so if you are hungry, pull up a log and have lunch. Across the street is Alpine Pond, a city-owned natural pond teaming with wildlife.
