2024 Austin Pond Tour

Lisa and Shane Lamb

Built by Hill Country Water Gardens on a 1.2 acre lot, this big and beautiful pond has a large bog, waterfall, two skimmers, plant shelves and limestone borders. Excavated soil was used to build a berm behind the 4,000 gallon pond which is covered in purple flowers and foliage. There is so much to see and enjoy — flower and vegetable gardens, fruit trees, weeping mulberry, and coastal sage wort. The owners were very pleased with the amount of wildlife that has found the pond — dragonflies, Leopard frogs, Gulf Coast toads, a Cooper's Hawk, a Great Blue Heron, Bluebirds and Cedar Waxwings.  They particularly enjoy watching the Cooper's Hawk occasionally splash about in the bog.
