2023 Austin Pond Tour Jo Ann and Jeff's Pond & Gardens |
The property hosts an elaborate array of gardens where art has been thoughtfully infused to take the visitor to a magical place. Visitors will be introduced to the splendor that is to come with the gardens along the walkway to the front entrance of this home. There you will be greeted by native perennials and visions of huge metal Mexican flowers that provide a very subtle intro to an unusual property and a hint of what’s to come. There is no wrong way to take this magical journey when entering. Pathways of granite lead you to amazing destinations of separate garden rooms filled with a myriad of seating areas that showcase interesting and fun garden art reflecting the hobbies and many interests of the owner. Along your travels you will see gorgeous and unique variations of pottery, flowering and edible vegetation, statues that seem to provide a watchful eye, secret gardens that are enchanting and mysterious, and an amusing wine bottle garden that is made to look like a rose garden. Here you will find the great determination the owner had in drinking wine and collecting bottles. The buttercream color and style of the home are repeated in two garden buildings. One is a teahouse that contains the owner’s collection of teapots and China. Less fortunate pieces of China can be found in the mosaic studio where they are destined to become parts of the benches, stepping stones and bird baths that can be seen throughout the property. A large greenhouse is nestled in the corner and houses rabbit statuary and other collectibles. The real showcases of the property are a 2000-gallon pond and waterfall with Japanese net floats that is enclosed with green pea gravel from Washington state. As well as a deck that stands 10 feet in the air acting as a treehouse providing aerial views of the property including a birdhouse village, herb garden, and butterfly garden containing a tapestry of color and fragrance. |
