Welcome to the
Austin Pond Society
The house is on ¾ of an acre and shares a fence with a Longhorn ranch. As you go around the right side of the house notice the lovely crepe myrtles, all with white bark. One of them has one solid trunk and looks more like a tree than a crepe myrtle. The back yard has 3 pecans trees and a redbud and many other plants, coleus, turk’s cap, lantana, potato vine, plumeria, dianthus and others. You will also notice the water collection system with three large tanks. On the right side of the yard by the fence is a butterfly garden with Gregg's mist flower and milkweed and in the right corner is a compost pile. The 15 x 9 foot pond is central to the backyard and was built by Hill Country Water Gardens in 2014 and the waterfall later refined by Matt Boring of Texas Ponds and Landscapes. There are 7 fish and 3 turtles. The gazebo and patio were built a few years ago for their daughter’s wedding. The backyard has a 5 foot open wire fence and you can see on the other side a large farm with 5 longhorns. Their names are Junebug, Sweet Baby, Speckles, Sweet Girl and Dumpling and they are quite tame and love to be fed. On the right side of the back yard is a lovely red brick walkway and rose garden. Don’t miss this beautiful pond, landscapes and the longhorns.
